Other popular artist in China that are currently charting is Taylor Swift with currently 18 of the Top 100 songs. Taylor has been in the limelight for a while now as well as being a music icon here in the States and elsewhere globally. Shawn Mendes and current girlfriend Camila Cabello are on the list a couple of times with the songs they have together.

Traditional Music

There are many different styles of Traditional Music that has been in Chinese history. The different styles are, Chinese Opera, Folk Music, and Instrumental. Each of these very different and distinct music styles offer great insight into Chinese history and culture. Opera is usually a higher pitch voice that sings in an embassy. Folk Music helps tell a story about anything that the singer/performer wanted to share with the audience. Lastly, instrumental is just the simplistic music that is very soothing and you would here when you walk into an elevator, it is this type of soothing and simplicity that it offers.

Below is a video that I found on YouTube that shows what Traditional Folk Music is like in China.

China Central Television

While further diving into the television scene in China, I found out that the biggest and main company in China. They offer a slim variety of channels however, only 50, which is dramatically different than what we have here in the States. The type of channels that are available are similar to what everyone is used to, meaning, Sports, News, Science, Music, Movie, Military, Olympic, and finally Agriculture. China also has the equivalent of Pay Per View which they call pay channels. This section can make up to an additional 18 channels offered by CCTV.
